A note to begin: I just want to say thank you to all my friends and family who have texted, instagramed, called, facebooked, and snapchatted congratulations to me over the past couple of days, and for all of you who have sent me encouraging words and prayers throughout the past couple of months as I was taking the exam. They really have meant the world to me. They kept me going and kept me encouraged along the way. I have been truly blessed by you all!
Ever since I took that last CPA exam I’ve had time to do other things in my life, like actually have a life. So, I’ve been making lists of all things I want to do now that I have free time. Also, I realized that I will have more free time now that Jamey is really into studying and group projects and actually does things like his stats homework. ( When he sat down to do stats homework I died. I NEVER did my stats homework. I studied for like two hours the night before the test. I was like ” You are actually doing that??” Guess that is why he has a better GPA then I did! haha!) One of the lists I’ve been compiling is the list of books I want to read, since I can actually read for fun. I’ve listed a few below for fun!
One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live life Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp (Pretty awesome book about giving thanks, but it is written like poetry so while I loved it I’m not sure everyone would)
Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg (I don’t necessarily agree with every little thing Sheryl had to say, but I do think this is a really great read for any women in the professional world. I learned a lot of great things, and it is a really easy read.)
3. Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers
4. Bossypants by Tina Fey
5. The Secret History by Donna Tartt
6. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Micahel Chabon
7. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro
8. The Group by Mary McCarthy
9. The Meaning of Marriage by Timothy Keller
10. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
11. White Oleander by Janet Fitch
12. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
13. The Beautiful and Damned by F. Scott Fitzgerald
So the hope is that I can finish all these by the end of December. We will see how it goes! Maybe if I really love some I can give a book review! Is there anything I should add to my list? Are any on my list especially great? Any that I should not waste my time reading?
